Depth of Shekinah's relationship with God

It was on 31st of December 2010, her birthday that the treatment (I Cycle of chemotherapy) began. As parents, the best we could do was to pray for her and be with her. We also decided to gift a new Bible, as we knew that His words alone would be her real comfort. When ever she could, she read and studied God’s word. The front page of her new Bible and one of the inner pages is given above.

During the tough period of treatment at Vellore, one verse she held dear was 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it”. She always tasted the faithfulness of God and found a way of escape in the midst of intense suffering. The final way of escape was into the very presence of God! Even at the hospital in Vellore, the nurses were surprised by her calmness, in the midst of difficult procedures. What she wrote on a piece of paper, during that period is also given above. Yes, she surrendered her everything to Him and stood on Christ, the solid Rock.

One of the remarkable traits of Shekinah was her sensitive conscience. As her mother testified at the funeral service on 10th November, she had no debts to clear. She would set right matters as soon as she got light. Even in the midst of intense pain, she was consciously taking effort to be respectful to us, her parents. She loved us very much considered us to be her earthly heroes. She had no demands and even on the day before she was called up home, she apologized to her mother during lunch, for expressing the desire for another dish which was not prepared that day. She thought that, that particular desire would pain her mother!

Two godly men, who influenced her most was Br.Zac Poonen and Br.Geogy T Samuel. She also loved and deeply respected Sr.Annie Poonen.

Sweet child, we are proud of you! You are an example and a challenge to us!

A word from our hearts

Friend,

Thank you for taking time to read about our little girl Shekinah. We did not expect her to leave us so soon. But she was ready. We have the deep assurance that she is with the Lord. Her devotion and commitment challenged us during her days on earth. Even after death, her life continues to speak to us and to the hearts of many across the globe. We too are comforted by the Lord, through the prayers of many. We too are getting ready to meet her and our Lord soon.
